Peak Climbing in Nepal Nepal is well known in the world as the land of Himalaya. The country offers great opportunities to climb different peaks for adventure enthusiasts. Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA), a non-governmental organization working as a national alpine association of Nepal has categorized 33 peaks in Nepal as NMA 'trekking peaks' with the elevation between 5650-6500m (18,537-21,325ft)  All these peaks  involve  both trekking and climbing and have been graded easy, moderate and challenging according to their appropriate height. Nepal Mountaineering Association is the only government authorized body to issue climbing permits for these 33 trekking peaks in the country.  The joys of peak climbing with the pleasure of trekking in Nepal cannot be translated into words. Some most popular trekking peaks worth mentioning are Island Peak , Mera Peak , Lobuche East Peak , Pokalde Peak in the  Everest region, Naya kanga Peak in Langtang region and Pisang Peak , Tharpu Chuli Peak and Singuchuli Peak in  the Annapurna region.
