Trip Overview

Overview

Tamang Heritage Trail is a newly- opened trek in the Langtang region nearby Nepal –Tibet border. It offers a great opportunity for trekkers to explore   amazing alpine landscapes, hot springs and experience Tamang culture, traditional lifestyle of the local community, festivals and unique Syabru dance.

The trip begins with a eight hour drive from Kathmandu, heading to Syabru Besi and the next day early morning the trek starts through some truly breathtaking scenery which includes terraced paddy fields, beautiful Tamang villages, and serene valleys. In spring (March- April) one can enjoy sighting of rhododendron flowers in full bloom along the trail.  The traditions of the Langtang region are pretty much steeped  in Tibetan culture as many of the inhabitants of this region have migrated from Tibet many years ago and they have changed their surname to Tamang and hold Nepalese citizenship. On the way there is a beautiful view point at Nagthali pass from where the Langtang Himalayan range and Kerung( Nepal- Tibet border) can be seen.
