Langtang valley is one of the most spectacular u-shaped glaciers carved valleys situated to the north of Nepal bordering with Tibet. The valley abundantly rich in various species of flora and fauna provides opportunities to trekkers to relax into local settlements and to enjoy mountain views of the Langtang Himal topped by the shapely Lang tang Lirung.
Langtang valley trekking admittedly does not signify to any of the great Himalayan peaks like in the Everest region, but nonetheless its scenery is just as spectacular and photogenic as you trek through the hemlocks, oaks, and silver fir forest. The trail is well marked, but in monsoon much of the trail is eroded due to heavy rains in the mountain. In spring and autumn the weather remains fantastic with beautiful blue skies and warm during the day. At night temperature goes down to minus 4-5. During the trek you will encounter most friendly and hospitable local people in the villages inhabited by both Tamang and Sherpa ethnic groups of people who follow Tibetan Buddhism. Here, you will find the local villagers engage in weaving carpet, sewing handmade scarfs, woolen caps, gloves, painting, farming and raising the cattle. Trekking to Langtang valley is organized in teahouse basis and it is more economical than camping trekking.
