Kathmandu Valley tour starts with UNESCO listed World Heritage sites within the valley which covers an area of 596sq. miles and situated at 1300m.above the sea-level. Twenty-five centuries ago a Buddhist saint named Manjushree came to Kathmandu where he found a huge lake surrounded by a tier of green hills. He cut southern side of the lake and drained out its water and made inhabitable for the people. Many royal dynasties flourished and went into oblivion. Kathmandu Valley itself is one of the important cultural, commercial and political hubs of Nepal. There are several religious and historical sites of Hinduism and Buddhism worth visiting. Travelers will have the opportunity to explore the ancient city of Kathmandu, visiting one of the most sacred Hindu temples, Pashupatinath, and the world renowned Buddhist stupas of Boudhanath and Swambhunath. We will take to other ancient cities of Bhaktapur and Patan. All these sightseeing spots that we have included in this tour package will give insights into Nepali culture, customs and history. During the winter the towering snow-capped peaks in the north from the Kathmandu valley is clearly seen.
