The Ghorepani Poon hill trek is immensely popular among trekkers in the Annapurna region. This trek offers the breathtaking mountain scenery and a visit to the beautiful ethnic villages dominated by Gurung ethnic groups of people along the trail. It is graded as short and easy, though we walk the entire way uphill climb through the rhododendron and bamboo forests until we reach Ghorepani for overnight stay. Ghorepani Poonhill trekking is suitable for those who are looking for a few days to spend holidays being close with pristine nature, without involving in serious ascents. There is no risk of altitude sickness during the trek. We walk mostly through the woods before we reach Ghorepani. Upon arrival at Ghorepani, check in lodge and stay overnight. We wake up next day early morning to climb the nearby Poon hill to see the spectacular sunrise over Dhaulagiri and Annapurna mountains. Every spring we find the forests in full bloom with rhododendrons at the backdrop of panoramic high mountains on the skyline. We will return to Phedi via Ghandruk and catch a transport to Pokhara. This trekking is possible throughout the year except the monsoon season (July to August). The entire trekking trails are well- developed with lodge facilities.
