Trip Overview

Three High Passes trekking is one of the most challenging of all treks in the Everest Region. Crossing over three spectacular high passes namely Renjo La pass (5338m), Chola La pass (5368m), and Kongma La Pass (5535m) makes this trekking most memorable for every trekking enthusiasts. Moreover, this trek covers all the major places that include Namche, Tyangboche Monastery, Everest base camp and Gokyo lake in the Khumbu region.

We begin our journey with a 35minute scenic flight to Lukla, the gate way to the Everest region. After spending overnight at Phakding we begin the trek following day passing through picturesque villages, Sagarmatha National Park and Buddhist monasteries. At Namche bazaar we spend a couple of nights to get fully acclimatized. During stay at Namche you will enjoy the awe-inspiring Himalayan mountain views and have an opportunity to visit Buddhist monasteries, Sherpa museum. Heading towards upper Khumbu you cross three passes to reach Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar. After identifying the classic climbing routes to the summit of Everest we complete a spectacular trek over the Cho La to the alpine pastures and lakes of Gokyo. From Gokyo Peak you enjoy the outstanding views of Everest before crossing over the Kongma La Pass to the traditional Thame valley. After Thame you will trek down to Lukla via Namche and take the flight back to Kathmandu. This trekking is not recommended for all round a year. February to May and October to November are comparatively better than June, July and January
