Everest Panorama trek is ideal for those who have short holiday in Nepal but want to see Mt. Everest and experience the Sherpa culture of Khumbu Valley. The trail leads up to Tengboche at an elevation of 3867m where one of Nepal’s most important monasteries lies on a ridge top surrounded by massive Himalayan peaks. This monastery is a spiritual center for Sherpa community. Here, you find about 45 Tibetan Buddhist monks reside. The trek begins with a scenic flight of about 35 minutes from Kathmandu to Lukla. From Lukla your trekking adventure begins walking through the stone paved trails to Phakding. En route you see plenty of prayer Rocks (Mani in Sherpa language) along the trail. You come across Sagarmatha National Park on your way, witnessing pine forest, Rhododendron flowers in full bloom especially in spring time and abundance of flora and fauna. On the way you enjoy great views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Kusum Khangru and many other peaks.
You spend a couple of days in Namche Bazaar to get acclimatized and enjoy the awe-inspiring Himalayan mountain views. To experience the Sherpa culture and their astonishing traditional life style you visit the villages and meet the local people. Visiting Buddhist monastery at Tengboche and local schools along the trails are extra advantages of this trek. Anyone can do this trekking easily, no need to be physically fit.
