Dhulikhel-Namobuddha Trek is designed especially for those senior citizens and family with children who do not prefer to involve long or strenuous walk on the hill. We take an hour drive from Kathmandu to Dhulikhel and stay overnight in resort. Next morning we walk slowly to Namobuddha which is popular pilgrimage site for Buddhists. We visit a Buddhist Stupa that carries its own story. According to legend, Lord Buddha is Said to have sacrificed his own flesh to feed a starving tigress and her cubs. A carved stone slab depicts this Buddhist tale of selfless compassion and sacrifice. On the way back from Namobuddha you can see beautiful hillside terraced farms, villages and school. After spending a few hours we trek back to Dhulikhel and decide either to stay there or drive back to Kathmandu. The best season to do Dhulikhel-Namobuddha trek is spring and autumn. Because there is a high chance of viewing Himalayan mountains clearly during these seasons. It would be best to avoid this trek from late May when the temperatures get very hot and then over the summer months of July and August when monsoon starts.
