The Annapurna Thorong La trek is highly popular among the travelers and has been considered a spectacular trekking route in the Annapurna region since it opened to foreign trekkers in 1977. This trek starts right from Besisahar which goes along the Marshyangdi River, with great views of Manaslu and Himal Chuli to the east.
The magnificent trail leads through the fine villages inhabited by a wide diversity of people from different ethnic groups giving you an insight into the local culture and interact with the local communities. You will be mesmerized by spectacular and majestic views of the white Himalayas. It continues to the north of the main Himalayan range to the high and dry Tibetan Plateau, the scenery is equally breathtaking. The highest point of the trek is Thorong La pass at the top of the valley at 5416 meters high. Due to the difficulties of crossing the pass, the circuit is usually walked in an anti-counter clockwise direction. Trekking clockwise, the longer ascent and shorter descent from west to east is too much for many trekkers to manage in one day.
After we descend to Muktinath from Thorung La pass, we continue our journey to the barren Tibetan like village of the Kali Gandaki - the world's deepest gorge passes between the giant Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountains. After visiting Muktinath we walk further down to Jomsom and catch a flight to Pokhara.
